Governance and compliance readiness are vital to the payment card industry as well as business in general. Protecting customer and organisational data is fundamental in retaining existing suppliers and partners, protecting brand reputation and increasing customer trust.

Despite competing rivalries, key stakeholders in the payment card industry are working together to proactively protect such data through the widespread adoption of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The principle is that all organisations that store, process or transmit card or cardholder data should put the necessary measures in place to protect it. The introduction of PCI DSS simply sets a common security and policy framework to help mitigate and reduce card fraud

The task of complying with PCI DSS creates significant challenges for enterprises of all sizes.  Over the course of this one day event we had a wide range of presentations that, not only outlined the context and wider impact of data and credit card security, but also addressed how to overcome management, planning and technical hurdles.

Whether attending to find out more about the PCI standard, or because of challenges with technical or organisational issues, our panel of experts was able assist delegates with their insights, experience and advice. In addition, we also had several presentations that looked at the wider context within the region and the Egyptian economy, exploring how organisations could reduce fraud and mitigate the ever-present risks of a data breach.
